How to Stay Motivated When Your Heart is Crying

Yep, I am sure, like me, you have those times when you know you should be more proactive, but you procrastinate or feel frozen, because your heart is not feeling it. I know for me, in order to be excited and pumped up, I have to believe in what I am doing and be passionate about it. So what do you do when you find yourself in this type of situation, but until things change, you feel you don’t have a choice?  The saying “fake it until you make it” swirls around in your head, but how do you smile and play the part, when inside your heart is crying?

Here are a couple of things that help me when I find myself in situations I’d rather not be in.

Focus on what you are going to achieve. However, focusing isn’t enough. You have to believe it will happen and visualize yourself in the place you plan to be. Meditating is good for that. Notice I said plan to be and not want to be. You can’t want or need something. You have to know it deep down and say I will. In fact, you should say affirmations to yourself in the present tense, such as I am successful. I am a happy new business owner. I am a money magnet. I am a successful entrepreneur. I am a mom that gets to stay home with my kids while I work on my business. I am, I am, I am……….. !  

Another great thing that will uplift your mood is by focusing on the positive things in your life that you are grateful for. As you think of what you are grateful for, state those things out loud. I am grateful for my car that gets me to work. I am grateful for having a roof over my head that I can call home. I am grateful for my pets that relieve stress and make me feel happy. I am grateful for living close to the water because it is so beautiful and therapeutic. I am grateful for, I am grateful for, I am grateful for………!
So as challenging as your life might be right now, I challenge you to focus on I AM ___________ and I AM GRATEFUL FOR ____________________. Say these affirmations out loud and write them down. I promise you, by doing so, you will feel better and attract amazing positive vibrations into your life.
