Are you crazy about life or does life make you crazy? My life seems crazy right now, but I am crazy about my life. Whether you work 1 job, 2 jobs, 3 jobs, for someone else, for yourself, are a stay at home mom or volunteer your time for the good of others, there is no denying that this time of year makes an already crazy busy life (even one your crazy about) crazier. Do you sometimes feel like you’re trying to shove 10 lbs. of potatoes into a 5 lb. bag? Are you reading this and wondering what I am talking about? The reality is most of our lives are crazy busy. That is partly the fault of the society we live in where everyone expects everything yesterday. Many of us go in numerous different directions daily and then like a light switch the holidays are on top of us and we fall into the expectancy of having to pile on a bunch of additional to do’s. These extra tasks tend to make our days longer, which throws our body clocks off and by the time the holiday has arrived we have stretched ourselves so thin we feel like we have burnt the candle at both ends. That my friend is because you have. Right? We forget there is always the option that we don’t have to do some of these things just because others are or expect us to. But, if you’re like me, the joy of the season boosts your energy. It brings a spirit to people that doesn’t always show during the rest of the year. It’s a time to be thankful for and focus on the blessings in our lives. However, it is not happy for everyone. Some struggle with being alone or the loss of a loved one. It’s hard for some to feel the joy and they can’t wait for this time of year to pass. This emptiness some feel makes it a great time of year to spread extra love, to be kind, and to be cognizant that there are those around us who are suffering silently.
November has always been a special month for me. It is the month of gratitude and it is my anniversary month. Eric and I got married on November 17 and we chose this special day in November, because the holidays are very special to us and we wanted to share how thankful we were to find each other, to have each other and to be with the ones we cared for the most. November is also a special time to step back and look at the big picture and to focus on all the blessings you have and not what you don’t have. No doubt, life has it ups and downs, but it is the downs that make the ups so awesome. If you don’t do so already, I challenge you to chunk out a few moments out of every day to cherish who you have in your life, what you have in our life and think about what you really want out of life. If you’re not focusing on what you want out of life and you are just going through the motions each day, this is a great time to stop, think and search within.
This is also a great month to Give Back. I think Giving Back is important every month of the year, but to me I would rather have the capability of giving back than receiving. Giving Back doesn’t have to be monetary. If you can find it in your heart to give back, whether it be helping a cause that touches your heart, doing a kind gesture for someone in need, or giving someone your ear that needs it, your life will take a direction of abundance and your heart will be happy.
I close on saying thank you. If you’re reading this than you are a part of my life and that makes me extra happy and blessed. I wish you a life that you are crazy about instead of a life that makes you crazy.
